Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has announced he is to open his first airport restaurant at Gatwick’s North Terminal this summer.
Jamie Oliver at Gatwick will bring a brand new restaurant concept to the airport which will include a bespoke Jamie’s Italian restaurant and bakery which will serve a variety of take –away pizza, sweets and salads, all exclusively designed for Gatwick.
It will also include a Union Jacks bar- the first stand alone Union Jacks bar to launch in the UK from Oliver’s new concept- which will consist of a bar on the balcony of the North Terminal, offering a range of British small plates including specially selected dishes from the Union Jacks menu and a full selection of filled sandwiches. In addition, the bar will feature an ‘open beer’ cellar offering a large number of UK sourced/produced beers and an all-British wine list.
The site will occupy a 6,000sq ft space and is expected to open in June this year in time for the Olympic Games.
