A duo of highly experienced hoteliers has been appointed to lead the opening of the highly anticipated new Hampton by Hilton Manchester Northern Quarter.
Louise O’Reilly has taken up the post of General Manager, whilst Ashley Wykes has stepped into the role of Director of Sales to prepare the new property for opening later this year.
With more than two decades of hotel industry experience, Louise has spent a number of years leading teams across the Hilton portfolio – most recently at Hilton Garden Inn Doncaster Racecourse.
The award-winning General Manager started her career as a Guest Services Assistant in 2000 and has worked up through the ranks, building an extensive repertoire of operational skills, and overseeing a number of hotel openings.
Wykes, who will work alongside Louise on the sales side, has worked in the industry for more than 10 years. Kicking off his hospitality career as a food & beverage assistant, Ashley boasts extensive experience in hotel sales as well as an in-depth knowledge of the Manchester market.
The £17.5m hotel will boast 221 bedrooms, meeting facilities and fitness centre in close proximity to some of Greater Manchester’s key attractions. Hampton by Hilton Manchester Northern Quarter will be operated by RBH, the UK’s leading independent hotel management company.
O’Reilly said, “I’m thrilled to take up the role of General Manager at such an exciting time. Hampton by Hilton Manchester Northern Quarter will be a fantastic addition to what is a truly thriving area of the city, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the journey ahead holds.
“I’m fully focused on building the strongest possible team, ready to offer our guests a first class service, including the brand’s signature ‘Hamptonality’ which will see us become fully integrated into the community that surrounds the hotel.”
Ashley added, “I’ve been part of the Manchester hotel sector for years and having made my way quickly up the hotel career ladder, I’m proud to be working alongside Louise to finally bring a Hampton by Hilton to the city, as it has been a number of years since a Hilton property has opened in the heart of Manchester.
“As well as being positioned the bustling and bohemian Northern Quarter, the hotel is a stone’s throw from the Manchester Arena and Manchester Victoria Station, with the Etihad Stadium and Arndale Shopping Centre close by too. We’re perfectly placed for gig-goers, corporate visitors or those just looking for a great city break in the heart of Manchester.
“We cannot wait to throw open our doors to our guests, and are counting down with anticipation.”
