Co-op is set to launch a new-look, larger, food store next Wednesday (22 February) with increased range and choice to serve the Kelty community, conveniently.
The convenience retailer relocates to its new purpose-built 3,650 sq ft store in Cocklaw Street, Kelty, Fife, with the new store more than 1,200 sq ft larger than the Main Street site.
The new Cocklaw Street store will support 26 local jobs - including the creation of new positions, and will open between 6am-10pm daily.
Co-op’s new store will include an in-store bakery, hot food and, Costa coffee dispenser, as well as post office services. This sits alongside an increased focus on fresh, healthy products; meal ideas; everyday essentials; food-to-go; Fairtrade products, chilled beers and award winning wines; ready meals and pizzas and, free-from; vegan and plant-based products, including Co-op’s exclusive vegan range, GRO.
The Click and Collect of groceries is also available through Co-op’s own online shop - shop.coop.co.uk - for added ease and convenience.
David Suttie, Co-op Store Manager, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to launch Co-op’s newest store. The store has a great look and feel and we are really looking forward to welcoming the community into their new-look Co-op.
'Our aim continues to be to operate at the heart of local life, and make a positive difference in the community.
'I would like to extend a very warm welcome to new customers and, to our existing members, customers and friends of Kelty Co-op - we have worked to develop the range, choice, products and added services to create a really compelling offer to serve our community, conveniently -
A soft plastic recycle unit is also available in store to enable the community to recycle ‘soft plastics’ including: crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals and yogurt pots, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches. This means that all Co-op’s own food packaging is recyclable through either local authority kerbside collections, or its in-store soft plastic recycling unit.
