A new Co-op 2,500 sq ft store has just opened its doors in the Cornish village of Bugle
Children from Bugle School helped to cut the ribbon, while the Bugle Silver Band (that has a history dating back to the 1800’s like the Co-op ) heralded the launch of the store.
Located in Fore Street, the store has created 12 new local jobs, and opens between 7am-10pm daily. It includes customer car parking and a free ATM.
The purpose-built store, on the site of a former car garage showroom, features an in-store bakery and, Costa coffee express, which sits alongside a focus on fresh, healthy products, everyday essentials and food-to-go options.
Also, there are Fairtrade products, chilled beers and award-winning wines; ready meals, pizzas and, free-from; vegan and plant-based products – including Co-op’s exclusive vegan range, GRO.
Local products will be provided by suppliers including Portreath Bakery, and breweries including: Skinner’s Brewery and, Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm of Truro; Cornish Orchards which is based in Duloe, near Liskeard; St Austell Brewery and, Redruth’s Keltek Brewery.
The store will operate as a Co-op franchise, and Carrie-Anne Manaton, Store Manager (pictured third from right), shared, “We have had a great response, we are delighted to have the opportunity to launch Co-op’s newest store, and really enjoying welcoming the community into their Co-op.
'Our aim is to operate at the heart of local life, and we have worked to develop the range, choice and added services to create a really compelling offer to serve the community, conveniently.”
