Papa Salt Coastal Gin, the award-winning gin from Australia is set to launch in the UK exclusively at Harvey Nichols, available in stores and online from Thursday 20thJune. Having begun as a passion project between five friends, and after five years and 59 variations, it is finally reaching the shores of the UK.
With a shared passion for gin, Josey McNamara, Tom Ackerley, Margot Robbie, Regan Riskas and Charlie Maas sought to create a delicious, sessionable, and easy-to-drink gin that captures the feeling of an idyllic Australian beach day.
Over five years of development, the founders explored over 300 competitive gins, botanical essences, and compound gin recipes, with the end goal being to produce a spirit that makes a classic dry martini and mixes well with soda water, in addition to the beloved gin and tonic combination.
Papa Salt was developed in partnership with the award-winning Lord Byron Distillery in Byron Bay, Australia. The Lord Byron Distillery is a zero-waste facility that operates entirely on renewable energy. The recipe highlights distinct Australian botanicals like wattle seed, wax flower, and oyster shell, with nearly all botanicals sourced locally. Papa Salt is distilled in small batches on 1200L copper alembic pot.
Papa Salt earned a Gold Medal at the esteemed 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, as well as a Platinum Medal and Best in Show at the 2022 LA Spirits Awards.
Papa Salt's initial run in the Australian market sold out within 48 hours, underscoring its popularity and demand among consumers. The brand has since quintupled its capacity to continue meeting the increasing demand.
