French hospitality group set to open first UK location in London’s Mayfair

French hospitality group Loulou Groupe is preparing to make its UK debut in autumn 2026 with the opening of 16 Charles Street in London’s Mayfair.

Founded in 2016 by siblings Gilles and Claire Malafosse, the group combines culinary and creative expertise: Gilles serves as the group’s restaurateur, while Claire leads as its artistic director.

The Parisian hospitality brand, named after Loulou de la Falaise, the muse of French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, is behind acclaimed venues such as Loulou Paris at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Loulou Pirate in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, and the Loulou boat, which set sail in the Mediterranean this May.

To mark its UK debut, Loulou Groupe has unveiled the members’ club Les Amis, described in press materials as a “new international community designed to bring together the extended Loulou family around the world”.

The London outpost occupies a 25,000 sq ft, Grade II-listed Mayfair townhouse and has been described as a “London pied-à-terre” for members, who will enjoy access to all of Loulou Groupe’s venues.

The five-storey 16 Charles Street was formerly the residence of high-society hostess and philanthropist Dame Margaret Greville.

The London venue will feature salons, bar spaces, and restaurants, including a ground-floor French brasserie that will remain open to the public.

The food and beverage program is led by executive chef Benoît Dargère, while the interiors are designed by Festen Architecture in collaboration with Corinne Sachot and Hadrien Breitenbac.

Loulou Groupe also plans to expand with new sites, including Loulou Marbella and Loulou Porto Heli.
