The prestigious Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland, has seen a £1m increase in turnover to £36.7m, with the 3% rise thought to thanks to improved revenue from the restaurants, bars and vast range of leisure activities on site which includes their celebrated golf course, spa, equestrian centre, shooting and falconry. Dining facilities includes the Michelin-starred Andrew Fairlie restaurant.
Room sales were 'broadly level' in the 12 months to June 30, 2012, with pre-tax profits coming in at £591,000, which was a small decline from the £595,000 of the previous year.
The five-star hotel, which is owned by Diageo saw its operating costs tick upwards £35.2m to £36.2m. Much of that extra expenditure was due to preparations for the Ryder Cup in September next year.
The hotel current employs 851 members of staff.
