Development company, Union Hanover Securities has been given the green light by City of Edinburgh Council for its £35m Urban Villa boutique hotel in the city.
As the group now seeks a construction firm for the project, the 180-room hotel build is planned to begin this October.
The Council also granted outline planning consent for a mixed-use masterplan containing residential, leisure and office uses in which the Urban Villa will sit.
This will be part of a larger regeneration of the Fountainbridge district and the £120m scheme is being led by Amco Developments.
