Cubitt House to open major eatery & bar in Kings Cross

Cubitt House, the firm behind Percy & Founders, is planning to open the Lighterman at London's King's Cross early this year.

The large building on Granary Square has three floors and will offer bars, restaurants and private dining, as well as canal-side alfresco dining. There will be a wood-fired grill, which will be a focal point for casual and relaxed drinking and dining.

The ground floor, with seating directly onto Granary Square, will serve everything from breakfast through to dinner, with views into the kitchen featuring a pizza oven. The top floor has panoramic views across the square and canal, with its own wraparound terrace. It will host a more formal dining experience, making it perfect for long lunches, dinners and private events.

The modern British all-day menu will be overseen by Executive Chef Diego Cardoso, who joined Open House in 2014 to launch the first restaurant and bar, Percy & Founders, Fitzrovia, in spring 2015.

The extensive drinks menu will include draught and bottled beers, craft ales and seasonal cocktails, together with a well-curated and affordable wine list.
