Catering Academy named one of fastest growing firms

Catering Academy, which was acquired by Servest last November, has been named as number five in a list of fastest growing catering companies in a report from EP Business in Hospitality magazine.

The Foodservice Growth Report outlines the continual organic growth in the UK foodservice sector and shows M&A accelerating strategic plans for several operators.

Catering Academy is an independent catering company that has built a reputation for bringing innovative solutions to a wide range of catering and ancillary services to the business, education and healthcare sectors.

Formed in 2004 by Louise Wymer and Kevin Cannon, the company has operated nationally and worked with a significant number of Blue Chip organisations, as well as becoming a first choice provider within the education and healthcare arena.

Wymer said, “Catering Academy has had major successes in the past two years and our growth has been phenomenal. It’s great to be acknowledged on the list for the third time. The acquisition of the company by Servest is a new chapter for the development of Catering Academy and we’re keen to keep developing and growing with them in the coming years.”

The recent acquisition will enable Catering Academy as a division of Servest to expand and develop its presence in the education sector. Servest initially approached Catering Academy in 2015, believing the dynamic catering company would be a good cultural fit – its recent growth and presence on the foodservice report list is clear evidence of this.

John Hamill, Managing Director of Servest Food Co, said, “It’s great to see that our newly acquired business has been recognised and celebrated as one of the fastest growing catering companies.”

Servest has taken proactive steps throughout the past year to develop the catering brands, marked by the launch of the ‘Angel Hill Food Co’ B&I division and ‘Groundhouse’ coffee.
