We strive to ingrain and maintain a positive safety culture at ISS through a strategy of continual improvement.

'With our ‘#ichoose2Bsafe’ and ‘Safety Stand-down’ campaigns to remind everyone to be extra-vigilant on their return from holidays, through to the Safety Leader, Safety Hero and Mental Health First Aid roles, we keep a constant focus on safety and wellbeing.”

Proctor concluded, “To say that I’m pleased is an understatement; every day I’m positively delighted by the hard work by all of our great people at ISS to ensure that we can keep to our stated intention to continuously improve the safety culture for Everyone in our organisation in Everything they do, Everytime that they do it.”

In 2020, 509 organisations won an International Safety Award. They span all sectors and are drawn from the United Kingdom, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. 87 organisations were awarded a Distinction, 250 organisations were awarded a Merit and 172 organisations achieved a Pass.

Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, congratulated ISS UK on their success in winning an International Safety Award 2020 with a Pass, “The British Safety Council commends the organization on their achievement. The award is in recognition of their commitment and efforts to keep their employees and workplaces free of injury and ill health.

“The vision of the British Safety Council is that no-one should be injured or made ill through their work – anywhere in the world. Realising it requires more than legislation; people committed to health and safety, and increasingly also to workplace wellbeing, make it a reality and inspire others to create workplaces that are a key force for good.”
