Gary Usher launches nationwide delivery service


Chef Gary Usher has launched a nationwide food delivery service from his Elite Bistros, including Sticky Walnut and Burnt Truffle.

The dishes from Elite At Home, allows customers to finish them off at home for the best results. Usher said, 'We'll be taking all the hassle out of cooking from home. 'We've seen a few other restaurants and chefs doing it and it seems like a great idea.'

One of the delivery dishes is the group's signature eight-hour braised featherblade of beef with truffle creamed potato, glazed carrot and red wine sauce.

Usher explained, 'You'll get the beef all braised down, you'll get the sauce that comes with it, some prepped and cooked asparagus, some puree and some mash - all of this will be in separate bags.

'The idea is you just drop it into a pan of water at home, I'll show you how long for...and hopefully you'll be recreating the complete Elite Bistro experience at home.'

Starters include Burrata with charred spring onion dressing, fennel & chilli barley crisp, and Octopus with sunflower seed puree, salsa macha.

For main dishes, diners at home can enjoy Lamb rump with biber salcasi, Wye valley asparagus and saffron sauce, Confit duck leg, red cabbage, mango & macadamia salad, tarragon bbq sauce, and Sumac roasted half cauliflower with butterbean mash and salted lemon & green chilli dressing.

To finish there is Yorkshire parkin with salted butterscotch sauce & clotted cream, and Caramelised white chocolate mousse with raspberry and hibiscus compote & almond 'crack'.
