Mondrian Shoreditch launches rooftop restaurant & bar

Officially open today, Laurel’s On The Roof is London’s newest and most laid back rooftop restaurant and bar located at London's Mondrian Shoreditch.

Inspired by 1970’s Hollywood and the legacy of Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles, Laurel’s is an all day-dining and drinking hotspot infused with glamour and offering London’s most sought after tables.

Laurel’s serves Californian-inspired dishes and cocktails, offering a seamless transition from dawn until long after dusk. Laurel’s is Shoreditch’s hottest new opening of the Summer, a spirited venue with a touch of nostalgia emulating its namesake.

Transporting diners on an exploration of Los Angeles, Laurel’s offers an evolving all-day, highly seasonal menu starting with chilled breakfast catch ups over perfectly creamed coffees, buttermilk pancakes and granola and fruit bowls.

From lunch to dinner, Laurel’s draws upon Californian classics with signature dishes including Sea Bream Tacos with pickled red cabbage, white cabbage, chipotle mayonnaise and beer battered fish, the Malibu Shrimp Cocktail accompanied by roma tomatoes, jalapeno, red onion and marie rose sauce or the Roasted Aubergine with burrata, tomato pesto and roasted mushrooms, which sit alongside crowd pleasers such as ‘Half A Dozen’ Jersey Oysters and a Cobb Salad.

Similarly, the drinks offering also mirrors the playful nostalgia of the food menu, incorporating bold flavours served in 70’s inspired glassware; choose from an eclectic menu including Frozen Spicy Margaritas, Japanese Garibaldis with Campari, Yuzu, grapefruit and lime, Canyon Cobblers served with pisco, lime, honey and sparkling wine or the Wet Gibsons blending Oxley Gin, Martini Ambrato and silver skin onion.

David Lockhart, General Manager of Mondrian Shoreditch, said, “Shoreditch has always been a forward thinking neighbourhood which challenges the norm whilst always embracing the past’s retro culture. Opening Laurel’s on the Roof ahead of the height of Summer is an exciting next chapter of everything that we have already achieved at the Mondrian Shoreditch.”
