100th Subway opens in Northern Ireland

The Subway brand has announced the opening of its 100th store in Northern Ireland.

Located in Finaghy, Belfast, the store, which offers seating for more than 20 customers, is owned by Subway franchisees and local businessmen, Muhammad Aamir and Akhlaq Akhtar.

This is a third Subway store in Belfast for Aamir and Akhtar, who started as franchisees in October 2007.

Subway has undergone significant growth in Northern Ireland, with the first store opening some 19 years ago in Belfast, and has created more than 1,500 new jobs.

There are more than 44,000 Subway stores in over 110 countries. The brand recently announced plans to increase the number of stores across the UK and Ireland to 3,000 by 2020.
