Torquay hotel changes hands

Riviera Lodge Hotel, a 19-bed Victorian hotel located in Devon’s seaside resort town, Torquay, has sold through Christie & Co.

Having owned the business for the last 10 years, Lee Jones and Carsten Frasch have decided to retire from the hospitality industry and pursue new opportunities in Torquay. The Riviera Lodge has been sold to first time buyers, John and Nicki Houghton, who have relocated from Hove in East Sussex to run the hotel.

Stephen Champion, Senior Business Agent at Christie & Co's Exeter office, commented, 'We are thrilled to announce the sale of Riviera Lodge Hotel. We wish John and Nicki all the best for the future and have no doubt they will take the business from strength to strength.

“The Torquay hospitality sector continues to see strong interest from buyers across the UK and abroad, who are keen to capitalise on the town’s ever increasing popularity as a tourist destination.”
