The Rugby Football Union’s two-year, £80m development of the East Stand will open on 3 November when England play host to the Springboks in the first game of the Quilter Internationals series.
The images of the spectacular new venues created for the newly formed England Rugby Hospitality for international match days are now available for the first time.
England Rugby Hospitality was formed with the goal of improving the England Rugby match day hospitality experience for customers by bringing all the hospitality within Twickenham Stadium and ensuring that all the profits could be reinvested into the game.
The Rugby Hospitality team set out to create four modern, world-class spaces that would match the different requirements of its guests and enable the organisation to host all match day hospitality within Twickenham Stadium, for the first time.
The newly built East Stand venues The Gate , The East Wing, British Airways Rose Garden and The Lock will accommodate 4,500 covers each match day.
Each venue has been designed to incorporate intricate details that pay homage to England Rugby and the heritage of the stadium. All the concepts have a distinct and unique feel, from the relaxed, bustling vibe in British Airways Rose Garden to the luxurious, fine-dining, members club feel in the East Wing (a description of each venue is provided below). Extending the East Stand has involved adding 6,700 square metres of additional space on six levels to accommodate premium hospitality.
All the profits generated from hospitality in the new East Stand will be invested back into both elite and grassroots rugby. Hospitality packages for the new venues can only be bought from England Rugby Hospitality and official England Rugby partner Keith Prowse. The RFU recently launched the 'Good For Rugby' authenticity mark used to give customers assurance that they are purchasing official England Rugby Hospitality.
The Gate Chop House
Located on levels one and two of Twickenham’s East Stand, enter The Gate through a private entrance, into a relaxed rugby atmosphere. Enjoy a menu of modern, simple but exquisite chop-house food, complemented by fine wines and real ale with customers, colleagues, friends and family. The four-course Chop house style menu will see wine and food matched to the opposition: think New Zealand lamb and a Pinot Noir.
The Lock
The Lock restaurant is a multi-experiential facility, stretching the length of the East Stand with both rugby and food at its very core. With two flanks surrounding a central kitchen, the very nature of the space provides a subtle link to the players positions (No.4 and No.5) within a scrum.
The Rose Garden
Located on level five of Twickenham Stadium, with easy access from the main entrance, the Rose Garden ambience will be informal roof top feel and the atmosphere, electric.
Opening three hours pre-match and offering live music, hand-held street food and a range of complimentary drinks, including real ales and draught Guinness, and match seats in the upper-tier within the 22s which provide a cracking view of all of the sporting action.
The East Wing
The East Wing is the ultimate in Twickenham Stadium’s hospitality with a concierge to meet you upon arrival. Enjoy a spacious and luxurious member’s club environment, overlooking Twickenham’s hallowed turf.
Champagne and cocktails prepared by mixologists are available throughout, as are ales, draft lagers and premium spirits and wine.
