Hydes Brewery opens first craft beer bar

Hydes Brewery has opened its first bar, The Beer Studio, in south Manchester to celebrate its craft beer range.

The 152-year-old Hydes Brewery has been experimenting with craft beers over the last few years at its small brewhouse The Beer Studio and the new venue allows the brand to showcase its new beverages.

The Beer Studio Bar & Kitchen offers seven cask beers, including a regularly changing pair from The Beer Studio, plus 16 keg beers and over 50 bottled beers from around the world.

Beer cocktails range from a Gringo, made with tequila and grapefruit topped with an IPA, to a Weissen Sour, combining bourbon, bitters and citrus with Erdinger beer. There are also bottled and draught ciders and a short list of wines.

The menu offers flatbreads and sharing platters such as the German Market board which comes with pork schnitzel, currywurst, bratwurst and leberkäse served with sauerkraut, mustard, red onion chutney and rye bread.

The dishes come with recommendations for beer pairings, such as the Studio Fried Chicken and Brooklyn Lager, and the house burger with cheese and Anchor Steam.
