Fine dining group, Caprice Holdings has announced it is to open its new venture Sexy Fish on 19 October in London’s Berkeley Square.
The highly-anticipated restaurant from Richard Caring will have 190-covers combining contemporary cuisine with ‘cutting edge’ art and design decor.
Damien Hurst has created three site-specific artworks for the restaurant, while Frank Gehry who designed the Guggenheim in Bilbao and the Walt Disnye Concert Hall in Los Angeles will also showcase his work. A large ceiling mural designed by Michael Roberts- style director for Vanity Fair- will be the restaurants main focal point.
In addition to the main restaurant there will also be a second dining area The Coral Reef Room on the restaurants lower level which will have 48-covers.
Head chef is Australian trained chef Ben Orpwood, who has already worked with Caprice before, heading up its Gone Fishing pop-up at the Mayfair grill house 34 in May this year. His Asian-inspired menus focus on fish and seafood with influences from his previous years at restaurants such as Zuma, Toko and The Sydney Collective Group.
The restaurant director of Sexy Fish will be Paul Murashe, previously of Nobu. David Millière, who most recently worked at Bangkok’s Zuma restaurant, will be the head sommelier and the bar manager will be Matteo Cazzaniga.
