Caprice Holdings reveals opening date for The Ivy Cafe

Caprice Holdings, the London restaurant group who operates a number of high profile venues, has announced it will open The Ivy Cafe, a new offshore of The Ivy restaurant, in Marylebone on 3 November.

Opening in the space previously occupied by the Union Cafe, The Ivy Cafe will offer breakfast, elevenses, brunch, lunch, afternoon snacks, cream tea and inner. Executive chef Sean Burbidge has produced a menu including breakfast items such as crumpets with marmite, mustard and parsley butter and poached eggs with avocado and roast plum tomatoes; brunch including the Ivy Cafe’s HLT (grilled halloumi, avocado, lettuce and tomato served with thick-cut chips), and the croque monsieur (ham hock, Gruyère and Dijon mustard béchamel); and an evening a la carte menu featuring chicken liver parfait, with toasted ciabatta, caramelised hazelnut and a cherry and Szechuan pepper compote; roasted butternut squash with salad of buckwheat, chickpea, pumpkin seeds and pomegranate, with feta, harissa yoghurt and coriander dressing; and lobster risotto with fennel, lemon and tomato.

The 94 cover site, which will always keep 40% of tables for walk ins, will be run by general manager Thasanee Robinson.

In addition to The Ivy Cafe, Caprice Holdings will open The Ivy Brasserie in Kensington later this year. It opened The Ivy Market Grill in Covent Garden last November and The Ivy Chelsea Garden on the King’s Road in April this year.
