Sea Containers Restaurant at Mondrian London will be serving up a play on a classic American menu for Thanksgiving, with a pumpkin pie created exclusively by Great British Bake Off winner, Edd Kimber, The Boy Who Bakes, from 20th-26 November.
Taking inspiration from Mondrian London’s American-British heritage, the Thanksgiving Menu will utilise seasonal British ingredients showcased in American classics, with sharing dishes such as ‘Baked Pumpkin with Braised Turkey Leg, Whole Grain Mustard and Honey’ and ‘Roast Turkey with Butternut Squash, Cranberry and Pine Nut stuffing’.
To finish guests can enjoy Edd’s signature Pumpkin Pie, featuring a whisky pastry, a rich spiced pumpkin filling, topped off with a dusting of pecan crumble and a dollop of luscious maple cream.
A choice of Woodford cocktails will also be on offer made exclusively for the occasion, such as ‘Bracer Up’ a drink made using Woodford Reserve Double Oaked alongside Pecan infused Angostura Bitters, Martini Rubino, Fernet and Campari.
Set within the Tom Dixon designed Mondrian London, Sea Containers Restaurant is an iconic merging of British and American cultures and a natural setting for a show stopping Thanksgiving Menu.
Speaking on the collaboration, Edd Kimber commented ‘I am a huge fan of American baking and one of my soft spots is proper US style pie!
'I might not celebrate thanksgiving myself but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy the food that goes along with it, so I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Sea Containers Restaurant on this special menu.
'My pumpkin pie tries to stay true to the classic but with a little twist in flavour, pairing it with pecan and maple reminiscent of my other favourite, pecan pie.’.
