Bakery-cafe brand, Bread Ahead is to launch a new 60-seater outlet on Soho's Beak Street site this coming January.
The new outlet will open on 5 January serving up a range of breads, pastries and classic bakes, as well as hot breakfasts and a new menu of savoury dishes for lunch. There will also be two regularly rotating salads, available to eat in or takeaway.
The new bakery and cafe will be open seven days a week, and operate as a sit down café, serving hot breakfast, lunch and hot and cold drinks from 7am through to 7pm (10am on Sundays).
The breakfast menu will include a variety of savoury and sweet dishes, including Croque Monsieur, and Brioche French toast with jam, honey and icing sugar, or bacon and syrup.
For lunch, there will be a selection of sandwiches served in a variety of the brand's classic breads, such as sourdough, ciabatta and brioche.
There will also be a selection of 'free-from' dishes, including gluten-free waffles which are made with chestnut flour, with almond milk yoghurt, berries and compote.
The pair behind the brand is Matthew Jones and Justin Gellatly (formerly Head Baker at St John Bakery) who were united in their aim to bring quality baking to the masses.
Bread Ahead’s first bakery opened its doors in 2013 supplying fresh produce daily to Borough Market customers and a range of local restaurants and delis.
The Bakery School opened in 2014 and is designed to show the public just how easy baking good bread can be.
