Wahaca has announced the launch of a new menu, available nationwide from 20 June, that reflects its continued mission to prove to the UK that Mexican food can be fresh, delicious and healthy.
The new-look menu will encompass a host of brand new dishes that make the most of Wahaca’s trademark mixture of fresh and vibrant produce from Mexico and the UK. Inspiration has been taken from their recently opened Test Kitchen in Shoreditch, where consumer feedback has guided the most popular dishes to appear on the new menus across the country.
Wahaca has always been proud of its wide range of vegetarian dishes and the new menu will include even more delicious vegetable-based options for health-conscious diners.
Highlights of the new menu will include Mexican Bowls packed full of fresh ingredients like black beans, green rice, slaw and salsas, plus toppings like the Wahaca classic slow-cooked pork pibil. Expanding on its love of food to share, the new menu takes the DIY Taco Board straight from the Shoreditch Test Kitchen, with bavette steak, grilled fundido cheese and fresh meco salsas. The crispy Duck Croquetas, which were a recent special, have proved so popular that they will now feature on the new menu.
Wahaca's new menu aims to highlight the breadth and diversity of Mexican cooking, and founders Thomasina Miers and Mark Selby are proud to share what they believe is a menu that is exciting for foodies, accessible to families, and ultimately fun for everyone to enjoy.
Thomasina commented, “Our food is in a new phase of creativity as we see how the nation is whole-heartedly embracing Mexican food. Where we were once cautious about pushing the boundaries too much we are now excited about how much we can offer in terms of flavourful, healthy, vibrant food. We feel this is only the beginning.”
