The award-winning chain, Din Tai Fung of Taiwan is to open its first UK restaurant in London's Covent Garden later this year.
The 250-cover launch restaurant will be followed by Din Tai Fung opening in 2019 in Centre Point, the New Oxford Street, which comprises a 33-storey tower and 9-storey block.
Xiaolongbao buns feature on the menu - also known as steamed soup dumplings - that take 40 minutes to prepare. The thin, delicate dough is filled with meat, and then pleated 18 times, twisted at the top and steamed.
Dishes will also include the chain's well known dish Steamed Chicken Soup as well as steamed dumplings, noodle soups, wontons and more.
Din Tai Fung was founded in Taipei, Taiwan in 1958 as a cooking oil retail shop. In 1972, it transitioned into a full fledged restaurant.
The company currently has over 140 restaurants in 14 countries including the US, Australia, Japan, and Singapore.
