The much-loved Sunday roast has been given a suitably stylish Italian makeover by chef Francesco Mazzei at his Battersea restaurant, Fiume.
Launching on Sunday 27 January, Francesco will be serving up his take on the classic Sunday roast, with diners also able to enjoy Fiume’s stunning views over the River Thames.
Guests are invited to sit back and relax with a glass of wine in hand and watch the chefs at work in the large open kitchen while they prepare the seasonal roast of the day. The menu will change weekly, with Francesco taking inspiration from the fantastic Italian and British produce that becomes available as winter turns into spring.
Dishes on the day may include succulent whole roast guinea fowl with spicy Calabrian ‘nduja, or oven roasted chicken with a zesty lemon and garlic butter. There may also be a tender leg of lamb cooked with salty anchovies, classic crispy pork with fresh apple sauce, or blushing-pink roast beef served with yogurt and horseradish sauce.
All of the roasts will be served with regularly changing seasonal side dishes such as cavolo nero, pale-pink wilted radicchio, oven roasted swede and crisp potatoes. There will be lashings of gravy too of course! A vegetarian option will also be available every week.
Should guests want a sweet treat to follow, there will be a selection of tasty Italian desserts, including Francesco’s classic tiramisu and the Fiume house classic – a deliciously indulgent chocolate and pistachio doughnut.
With unrivalled views of the river, a tempting new Sunday menu and a guaranteed warm Italian welcome, Fiume is the perfect location for a long leisurely roast with family and friends.
Riverside Roasts at Fiume begin on Sunday 27 January, available all day from 12pm to 9pm.
