Wahaca to launch dining pods this month

Casual dining chain, Wahaca is set to launch ‘The Mexican Eye’; two bespoke luxury experiential dining pods situated on London’s Southbank. With views overlooking the river, the pods are available to book from 27 November.

Transporting diners through a culinary journey, the ‘Mexican Eye’ will offer a taste of the best Mexican street food on the banks of the River Thames. Wahaca co-founder and chef, Thomasina Miers has created a vibrant feasting menu exclusive to the pods, which will showcase Wahaca dishes, and is perfect for sharing.

The experience will begin with a range of sharing snacks including homemade Guacamole with tortilla chips, Duck croquetas with smoky hibiscus and chipotle salsa and Crispy cauliflower bites.

The star of the show will be the sharing boards with dishes including Buttermilk chicken tacos with pink pickled onions and spiced mayo, Roasted butternut squash tacos with creamy cashew nut mole and pumpkin seeds and Pork pibil tacos slow cooked in citrus and spices.

For dessert, there are Churros with rich chocolate sauce or dulce de leche caramel, as well as other Wahaca favourites, including its famous Chocolate and Pecan Brownie served with salted caramel ice cream and dulce de leche sauce.

For those looking to fiesta in true Mexican style, a tequila flight will be available showcasing the best tequila Wahaca has to offer. A range of freshly shaken cocktails will also be available to order. All food and drink will be served by the Mexican Eye’s very own dedicated waiter.

Decorated with vibrant colours and traditional woven furnishing, the pods also feature spectacular floral installations and are finished with greenery on the exterior to create privacy and add to the eclectic feel; The Mexican Eye is guaranteed to brighten up dining out this winter.

Wahaca’s Mexican Eye will open on 27 November for 2-hour slots from 12 noon and 11pm daily. There will be a minimum spend of £200 per booking and seat up to 6 people per pod.
