Wingstop & Greggs to open at Bluewater

Authentic US chicken wing experts, Wingstop and the UK’s largest bakery chain, Greggs, has taken a split of the former Giraffe unit at Kent's Bluewater Shopping Centre.

The two signings maintain the occupancy rate of 100% for F&B units within Bluewater’s Winter Garden.

Wingstop will be opening its third UK restaurant, and first outside London, this spring at Bluewater, Europe’s leading retail and leisure destination.

The 2,470 sq ft restaurant also includes an Xbox gaming area on a 1,130 sq ft mezzanine as part of the brand’s ground-breaking partnership with Microsoft.

Alongside Wingstop will be a 550 sq ft back of house production kitchen for Greggs. The decision to divide the unit has ensured both brands are accommodated within purpose-delivered spaces, providing Bluewater’s guests with even more diverse choice.

Shelley Sandzer, the leading specialist leisure property agency, has acted on behalf of landlord Landsec in the deals.

Lauren Wellman at Shelley Sandzer, commented, “Wingstop is an exciting brand and their pioneering partnership with Microsoft is innovation not seen in the dining sector before that is creating a real buzz. Landsec shared our progressive approach for this location, with their investment in splitting the unit delivering more choice for guests and a more exciting line-up for Bluewater’s Winter Garden.”

Rob Hardie, Portfolio Director at Landsec, added, “The team at Shelley Sandzer has delivered a creative solution for this prominent unit, bringing together a crowd-pleasing and ever-popular brand with a unique and exciting concept. Wingstop, with the Xbox collaboration, and Greggs, a brand regularly requested by Bluewater’s guests, have further enhanced the Winter Garden’s dining offer.”
