Following the acquisition of the six-strong Individual Inns business in 2019, family-run brewers, Robinsons, has used the last 18 months to grow and invest in these pubs.
The Mason Arms, Strawberry Bank; The Wheatsheaf, Brigsteer; The Spread Eagle, Sawley; The Tempest, Elslack; The Fountain Inn, Linton; and Wheatley Arms, Ben Rhydding have been joined by the Queens Head, Troutbeck and the Queens Head in Hawkshead.
Robinsons has so far renovated the bedrooms at the Masons Arms and Wheatley Arms, with further bedroom improvements planned at the Tempest, which will be followed by the pub and function facilities.
In addition to this, the brewery has invested at the Wheatsheaf, improving kitchen facilities and refurbishing the pub. The Spread Eagle has benefited from an external makeover, ensuring the pub looks picture perfect for the many weddings that have been booked at the pub over the next 2 years.
William Robinson, Managing Director at Robinsons Brewery, explained, “Despite the impact of the pandemic, the £1m investment thus far is consistent to how we have invested for the long-term in our pubs.
'We knew we acquired some fantastic businesses and have used the recent closure periods to good effect to further improve them and add to our customers experience.”

'The Wheatsheaf has also benefited from a full redecoration, and a kitchen extension with new equipment, to enable the kitchen to meet the demands of the pub. This hidden gem now offers a wider range of freshly cooked food in a lovely Lakeland inn with local provenance.
'The Individual Inns pubs are all iconic, with lots of rich history, so we have retained their uniqueness whilst sympathetically improving their facilities. Further refurbishments are planned at the Tempest over the next couple of years.”
