Albert’s Schloss Birmingham have announced the appointment of their new Sales and Events Manager, Sophie Cassidy. Sophie has joined the Mission Mars group after two roles at The New World Trading Company. Sophie has over 9 years’ experience in the sector after numerous roles in Sales Management and Coordination.
Sophie completed a number of work placements whilst at university including a role as a Researcher and Administrator at Aston Villa Football Club, Marketing Assistant at Adidas HQ and Sales Account Executive at Drayton Manor Theme Park.
Sophie’s career in the hospitality sector continued to grow with a two-year stint as Sales Manager at The Canal House in Birmingham, a venue within The New World Trading Company. Here, Sophie was responsible for managing the relationships of all corporate accounts and local ‘what’s on’ guides, executing large events whilst managing the process from beginning to end and enhancing social media platforms with fresh content.
Following this, Sophie moved within the company to Regional Sales Executive for the Midlands. In this role, Sophie created and managed bespoke events for nine New World Trading Company venues across the Midlands.
Successes included generating over £5k over Birmingham Cocktail Weekend, securing large bookings associated with the Commonwealth Games at The Canal House, introducing the Roots DJ event at The Botanist and introducing the Bridgfest Cocktail Festival across 9 venues in West Bridgford.
Housed within Chamberlain Square in the £700 million Paradise development, Albert’s Schloss Birmingham is the all-round venue where you can eat, drink, dance and play from dusk till dawn. Named after Anglo-Bavarian royal and husband of Queen Victoria, Prince Albert, the ‘Pleasure Palace’ is inspired by Bohemia, the Alps and raucous Bavarian culture.
Set across two floors and with three bars (the largest of which is over 100 feet long), the venue offers a weekly entertainment schedule,
Seven Days of Showtime, the weekly entertainment schedule which means live music and lots of it. The venue is home to over 100 freelance artists serving up outrageous and flamboyant performances every night of the week, with nights such as Tuesday’s Kunst Kabaret, Wednesday’s Baby Grand Slam and Sunday Service. The Cook Haus serves up a rich and indulgent Alpine-inspired menu alongside their in-house bakery.

My aim is to bring a lively personality and “can do” attitude to the role, and I’m looking forward to showcasing the very best entertainment and events that Birmingham has to offer.”
