BaxterStorey announces new senior appointments at inaugural event

This week saw hospitality experts BaxterStorey host an incredible celebration of its people, and their obsession with great food.

The special event took place at The Gherkin, London and welcomed guests, clients, and colleagues to experience great food and celebrate the rising stars and future hospitality leaders within the business.

The event saw CEO, Ronan Harte, announce two-time World Coffee in Good Spirits Champion and UK Barista Champion, Dan Fellows, as the business’ first ever Beverage Consultant. UK Barista Champion finalist, Jana Slamova was also announced as taking on the role as Head of Coffee Development, responsible for the BaxterStorey Barista Academy.

Ronan Harte, CEO at BaxterStorey, commented, “This event was a celebration of hospitality, a celebration of what the best of hospitality brings – which is great food, great people, great service and most importantly, some fun.

“I am excited about what our chef partners are going to bring to BaxterStorey – and now with the added appointment of Dan and Jana we see our business going from strength to strength.”

Rising stars within the business created a menu of theatrical canapes for guests to enjoy, including Cornish coronation crab crumpet, lemon and wild garlic spring tartlet and blue grey beef tartlet taco.

Guests were also treated to four separate dishes, exclusively designed by BaxterStorey’s Chef Partners, Adam Byatt, Kirk Haworth, Ruth Hansom and Josh Eggleton.

Beginning with warm semi smoked salmon, buttermilk beurre blanc, English asparagus, cured egg yolk and N25 Oscietra from Adam, guests also enjoyed a plant-based dish of lightly smoked tomatoes, seaweed caviar, house ricotta and tomato essence seasoned with its own vine from Kirk.

Josh served a dish of Venison, yeast roast carrot, smoked eel, with Ruth rounding the menu off with Yorkshire rhubarb, fennel, and white chocolate.

Greg Bramwell, Director of Food said “This is a new era for BaxterStorey – an era that’s obsessed about food, people and beverages, an era that is not concentrating on the traditional 9-5, but the morning, noon and night model that excites people and creates experiences.”

Chef partner Kirk Haworth commented, “I have nothing but good things to say about BaxterStorey. I am privileged to work with such an incredible brand and amazing people that inspire me to be better.”

The event also celebrated 15 young chefs who graduated from the BaxterStorey Chef Academy from 2019 and have waited over two years for their official ceremony.

Rik Razza, Head of Chef development at BaxterStorey said, “the reason we do what we do is for nights like tonight where chefs can cook, they can show their creativity and their inspiration – we are so excited to be working with our chef partners as well, as you’ve seen tonight, they bring so much inspiration, creativity and joy to what we are doing in this business.”
