John McLean appointed general manager of the Stafford London

John McLean has been named the general manager of the Stafford in London’s Mayfair, succeeding Stuart Procter, who stepped down as chief operating officer of the Stafford Collection two months ago.

News of Procter’s departure was announced by the board of directors of the Stafford Hotel Limited in March. He has yet to announce his next role.

McLean joins from the Cadogan Hotel in London’s Chelsea, where he served as interim general manager.

Prior to that, he worked as the general manager of The Kensington in London’s South Kensington, served as hotel manager and interim general manager of Brown’s Hotel in London’s Mayfair, and held the position of executive head of F&B at The Lanesborough in Mayfair.

McLean has also shown his commitment to the wider industry as a Springboard Ambassador and a fellow of both the Australian Institute of Management and the Institute of Hospitality in the UK.

The board of directors at the Stafford Collection said: “We are delighted to welcome John to the team at the Stafford Collection. He brings with him vast industry experience and, coupled with a strong set of values, he will be an incredible asset as we continue to deliver the high level of customer service for which the Stafford Collection is renowned.”

McLean added: “I am very much looking forward to joining the team at the Stafford Collection, and to build on the legacy that has already been created. To work in these storied properties and to lead the teams in offering a level of service that goes above and beyond, is something that I am delighted to be a part of.”

The Stafford Collection includes The Stafford in London’s Mayfair, Northcote in Lancashire, and Norma in London’s Fitzrovia.
