Tom Morgan has been appointed as the head chef of the Sea Containers Restaurant and Lyaness Bar at the five-AA-star hotel Sea Containers on London’s Bankside.
London native Tom started his culinary journey at the young age of 16, swiftly climbing the ranks from Commis Chef to Chef de Partie in just three years. Following a stint in an American restaurant, where he assumed the role of head chef at 20, Tom ventured into the innovative realm of social gaming with Flight Club. Excelling in his role, he advanced to executive chef after aiding in the launch of four venues. His leadership extended to overseeing the opening of 14 establishments and introducing the first American branch of Electric Shuffle in Dallas.
Before joining Sea Containers Restaurant, Tom served as the Area Operations Chef for MJMK restaurants, where he collaborated with acclaimed chefs like Nuno Mendes and Santiago Lastra in Michelin-starred establishments. At Sea Containers Restaurant, Tom channels his culinary ethos of simplicity and excellence, prioritizing top-quality ingredients in minimalist compositions. Expect dishes featuring English-sourced broad beans, peas, tomatoes, lamb, chard, and scallops.
Morgan said: “I’m very passionate about the simplicity of cooking, using minimal ingredients to truly highlight the quality of the produce. It’s about letting the natural flavours shine and crafting dishes that are both honest and memorable. I’m excited to now be bringing my skills to Sea Containers and look forward to sharing my vision and passion with the team and guests.”
