Unilever announces agreement for sale of Home Care business

Global FMCG manufacturer Unilever has announced the signing of an agreement to sell its Home Care business in Colombia and Ecuador to Alicorp.

The sale includes a range of established local brands within its portfolio, including Fab, 3D, Aromatel and Deja.

Completion of the transactions is subject to regulatory approvals, with the financial terms remaining undisclosed.

The move is part of Unilever’s strategy to streamline its portfolio and invest in its top-performing brands and categories.

Unilever president of Unilever Markets Reginaldo Ecclissato said: “These brands have a long-standing heritage and play a meaningful role in the daily lives of consumers across Colombia and Ecuador.

“While this was a thoughtful decision, it aligns with our ambition to sharpen our portfolio and focus on the categories where we can lead, innovate and grow sustainably.

“Alicorp is a respected regional player with strong capabilities in Home Care, and we are confident that under their stewardship these brands and operations will continue to thrive.”

The announcement comes after Unilever divested its healthy snack brand Graze to Candy Kittens, in line with its strategy to optimise its global foods portfolio and enhance growth.
