Loungers posts impressive 45% sales uplift over festive period


Bar/cafe operator, Loungers has posted figures for the four weeks ending 3 January showing an increase in sales of nearly 45%.

During the period, the company reported total net sales of almost £6.9m, a rise of 44.9%, and a like-for-like sales rise of 4.1%.

The group stated that sales at its 12 Cosy Club sites accounted for almost 32% of total sales for the period.

Loungers launched two new outlets in Swansea and Bury St Edmunds in the four weeks from the total of 20 new sites opened in the 12 months to Christmas 2015.

Yesterday, the company opened the 3,400 sq ft Cappello Lounge in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Next month, Loungers is to open a Cosy Club in Hereford, and Lounge-branded openings in Hinckley and Newquay.
