KFC introduces new contemporary design concept

YUM! Brands-owned Kentucky Fried Chicken has introduced a new design for its city centre quick-service restaurants, following the launch of its Newcastle-Upon-Tyne outlet.

The new contemporary restaurant design, which is the smallest yet for the chain, has been specifically designed to fit into the tighter spaces more commonly available in busier locations. The new look features bar stool seating, new artwork and wire-mesh chicken installations.

The Newcastle restaurant is also the first KFC nationwide to showcase ‘hook-on’ menu boards near the entrance to inspire customers to make their selections before arriving at the counter.

KFC first came to Britain in 1965 and there are now more 890 stores UK-wide, with recent years seeing the company make nutritional improvements by cutting salt by up to half and reducing saturated fat levels
