Sixth Chicago Rib Shack to open next month

Chicago Rib Shack will be opening up a new London restaurant on Wentworth Street, off Aldgate East at the end of September.

The new diner will join those in Clapham, Camden, Stratford, Twickenham, and one outside of the capital in Leeds. The last opening was the Twickenham site, which launched in October 2014.

The Adlgate East venue will serve the group’s usual selection of ribs, burgers, hot dogs and chicken, as well as craft beers, ice tea, homemade lemonade, ice-cream floats, and milkshakes.

The revived brand was originally founded in 1991 in Knightsbridge but that site closed in 1999 when the lease ran out. The group reopened a site in Knightsbridge in 2008, but owner CRS Leisure sold that London site to Buddha Bar in 2012.

The company then opened a diner in Westfield Stratford just before July’s 2012 London Olympic Games.
