Countdown to FDF Awards 2016 begins

There is just one week to go until the great and the good from across the food and drink industry gather to celebrate the best the industry has to offer at the Food and Drink Federation Awards 2016.

Taking place at London's The Brewery on 22 September 2016, the event will be hosted by broadcaster and presenter Hardeep Singh Kohli, and will showcase the talent, innovation and passion on show throughout the food chain.

The judging panel includes a wide-range of industry experts, Government representatives and sponsors, while finalists include household names, innovative SMEs, the best young talent in the industry and seasoned manufacturing professionals.

The awards not only recognise the economic contribution the food and drink industry makes to the UK, but also the wider role it plays in serving the community and caring for the environment too.

FDF's Director General Ian Wright said, “The food and drink industry is a fantastic and vital national asset. Companies in this dynamic industry have a great deal to be proud of. We're very much looking forward to celebrating the talented individuals and organisations that work within it at the FDF Awards.

“Bakers and butchers, spice merchants and soft drink producers, popcorn makers and potato processors from across the UK are competing for top accolades in areas such as innovation, health and exports. Individual bright sparks are also competing for the top Apprentice, Engineer, Food Scientist and 'Rising Star' crowns.

'We thank our sponsors – Aktrion Group, apetito, General Mills, Grant Thornton UK LLP, Nestlé UK and Ireland, Omron Electronics, PepsiCo UK and Ireland, Santander, and Sheffield Hallam University – for making the FDF Awards and gala award ceremony possible.”
