Smart Group set to launch new hospitality experience at Twickenham Stadium


The Clubhouse at Twickenham, rugby’s newest and most immersive match-day hospitality experience, launches on 12 November when England takes on South Africa at Twickenham Stadium during the Old Mutual Wealth Series 2016. Smart Group's Smart Experiences has been awarded a license by The RFU to provide the hospitality for The Clubhouse.

During the Old Mutual Wealth Series 2016 and the 2017 RBS 6 Nations tournament, The Clubhouse at Twickenham will become an essential destination for rugby fans and connoisseurs of world-class hospitality.

Martin Johnson, one of the world’s most capped and respected international rugby players, joins The Clubhouse at Twickenham as a match-day host and ambassador. As a player, he famously led England to victory at the 2003 Rugby World Cup and also captained the British and Irish Lions in 1997 and 2001.

Located in the shadow of Twickenham Stadium, The Clubhouse will offer guests the opportunity to drink, dine and rub shoulders with Martin Johnson and other rugby legends, past and present.

In addition, The Rugby Football Union (the RFU) has awarded premium hospitality specialists Smart Experiences the title of ‘Official RFU Hospitality Licensed Operator’ for The Clubhouse at Twickenham. The Rugby Football Union is the national governing body for grassroots and elite rugby in England, with 2,000 autonomous rugby clubs in its membership.

Match day hospitality at The Clubhouse will kick-off with an informal ‘bar chat’ hosted by a well-known rugby player, while guests enjoy hearty canapés, washed down with cask ales and the finest wines. This will be followed by a three course lunch, consisting of the finest sustainably sourced ingredients, prepared on-site by the award-winning caterers Smart Hospitality.

During lunch, a series of engaging and informative Q&A’s with respected rugby personalities will take place, discussing tactics, strategy and the predicted outcome of the match.

Following the match, guests will return to The Clubhouse for two hours of complimentary drinks and a heart-warming supper to help celebrate their team’s success. Every element of the day will produce a quality and memorable experience.
