Buzzworks Holdings leaps up Sunday Times list

One of Scotland’s largest hospitality groups, Buzzworks Holdings has been named in the top 40 of The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work for 2017.

Featuring in the prestigious list for the second year running, Buzzworks Holdings has leapt a massive 24 places to number 40, testament to the support and development it provides to its 444 strong workforce.

The Ayrshire based hospitality group boasts a portfolio of nine venues including Scotts in Troon, Elliotts in Prestwick, Lido in Troon and The Mill House in Stewarton. It recently announced its first venture outside of Ayrshire in the shape of The Coach House due to open this summer in Bridge of Weir.

With a three star accreditation for 2017, this accolade positions Buzzworks Holdings as not only one of the best places to work within the Scottish hospitality industry, but one of the best companies to work for in the UK across all sectors.

Kenny Blair, Buzzworks Holdings MD, said, “We are extremely proud of this momentous achievement and grateful to our talented team for showing their support for Buzzworks Holdings once again.”

To win a place on the 100 Best Companies list, businesses must employ at least 250 full-time employees and achieve one of the 100 highest Best Companies Index scores. Over the past 12 months, Buzzworks workforce has grown by 16% and now employs 444 members of staff across its portfolio of nine venues.

Blair added, “Our people are everything and we are proud of our family-like environment, with staff of all ages working together in close-knit teams to provide world class hospitality to our customers.

“Buzzworks Holdings place real emphasis on development and progression. Our philosophy is simple, if we look after our staff then they will look after our customers. We encourage all employees to reach their potential through our training and development programme. We have seen great success with more than 100 promotions in the last 12 months alone.”

On Friday 3 March, Buzzworks will be hosting its own celebration titled National Best Companies Day to mark its latest achievement. Over £10k worth of gift cards will be presented to staff and any tips given from customers on that day will be matched by the company and donated to its Giving Back fund which has raised over £50k in the last two years.
