Sodexo recognised at global diversity awards


Janine McDowell, Sodexo UK & Ireland’s D&I Council chair was highly commended in the Equality and Inclusion Senior Champion category at this year’s Employers’ Network for Equality and Inclusion (enei) Awards.

The enei Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of those organisations and individuals with a commitment to good practice above and beyond legal compliance and innovative approaches that will inspire other employers.

Sodexo was also shortlisted in the Inclusive Culture Award.

McDowell said, “Diversity and inclusion continues to be central to Sodexo’s approach as an organisation that values people. We want our employees in every country in every part of our business to enjoy a fulfilling career, and I’m delighted to have this recognised.”

Sodexo’s UK & Ireland D&I Council was founded in 2009 and is made up of senior managers from across its business. Sodexo’s UK & Ireland D&I strategy is based around six work streams; gender, generations, sexual orientation, disability, culture & origins and inclusion.

McDowell is a member of Sodexo’s regional leadership team and CEO for the organisation’s Justice Services business in the UK & Ireland.
