Punch sees record attendance for 14th Roadshow

Punch Taverns has reported record Publican attendance following the completion of its 14th annual Roadshow, the largest tour run by a pub company in the UK.

There were 1,598 Publicans who made the journey to one of its seven events across the UK, which started on 12 September in Chester and finished up in Coventry on 3 October.

Punch’s focus for the 2017 Roadshows was to support Publicans with building their businesses, as well as providing free operations and supplier support.

Punch also gave Publicans the opportunity to attend a number of seminars, including the highest rated, ‘Are you Social Ready’ presented by InaPub, and ‘Perfect Spirit Serve’ presented by Diageo. The Pubs Code Adjudicator’s office was in attendance throughout the Roadshow, with Paul Newby also present at London, Leeds and Coventry.

The exclusive Punch Roadshow voucher booklet was a hit, once again, with Publicans reporting considerable savings through on-the-day deals and support. This year’s booklet also saw the introduction of a prize draw per Roadshow, which rewarded one lucky Publican at each location with £500 off their drinks order.

Richard North from The Black Swan, Selby commented, “Getting to meet suppliers face to face was really useful, as well as interacting with Punch management.

'I made use of all the offers available on the day and would definitely recommend the Roadshow to other Publicans. I can be quite dubious of these types of events but the Punch Roadshow is definitely worthwhile and we will be attending again.”

Steve Dando, interim CEO at Punch, commented, “The 2017 Roadshows proved to be our best yet! The levels of energy and passion from the Punch team and suppliers was ever present throughout.

'All Publicans were able to benefit from the offers at the Roadshow and their feedback on all aspects of the event was astounding – from suppliers in attendance to the support offered from the Punch team.”
