Apex City of London Hotel reveals £1.5m revamp


Work has now been completed on a £1.5m refurbishment programme at the 209-bed Apex City of London Hotel.

The nine month project, saw the hotel’s public areas and largest meeting room given a makeover – with a new stylish restaurant and state of the art spa incorporated into the property for guests to the City and locals alike.

Work was carried out in phases at the hotel on Seething Lane – just minutes from Tower Hill Underground and Fenchurch Street Station – to ensure guests booked to stay still enjoyed the best possible experience while visiting the capital.

Apex City of London Hotel’s main lobby and reception have been fully refurbished to create a luxurious and stylish environment for guests entering the hotel, while the hotel’s main meeting room has also been upgraded – providing first-class facilities for delegates which Apex Hotels is renowned for.

The new restaurant, The Lampery (pictured), provides a fresh all-day dining destination with honest cooking in the heart of historic London – with the concept spearheaded by hospitality and events company, Concerto, in partnership with Apex Hotels.

Featuring the ‘terrace’ area, with its stunning suspended foliage canopy, The Lampery also boasts a buzzing bar area, perfect for after work and weekend cocktails.’

For discerning diners, the restaurant offers a ‘Best of British’ menu inspired by Head Chef Francesco Zanchetta’s passion for authentic British cuisine. Dishes include Lampery Pye – from which the restaurant takes its name – which is described as a ‘most rare dish’ in the diary of Samuel Pepys, one of the area’s most famous former residents.

As part of its £1.5m refurbishment, Apex City of London Hotel has also partnered with PURE Spa & Beauty to bring an oasis of calm to the capital, allowing guests and locals to escape the busy streets of London to enjoy a new fantastic spa experience.

As well as five luxurious treatment rooms and a whole host of pampering treats, the spa includes an infra-red sauna, manicure and pedicure bars, a spray tan booth, relaxation area and luxury retail area for the ultimate in relaxation.
