Mackies launches potato crisp range with Ocado

Perthshire-based Mackie’s of Scotland has launched its potato crisps with online supermarket Ocado.

Six flavours of their 150g sharing packs, including classics such as Sea Salt, and Mature Cheddar & Onion, as well as Scottish specialities Haggis & Cracked Black Pepper, and Aberdeen Angus, will be available to the 600,000 active Ocado customers in the UK.

Ocado is the largest online only supermarket in the UK, and continues to grow as consumers seek to address their shopping needs out with conventional bricks and mortar stores. It's constantly strengthening this position by offering customers unique products which helps differentiate them from other online competitors.

Commercial Director of Mackie’s at Taypack, James Taylor, said, ‘The online grocery channel is a key platform and it’s something we’re looking forward to growing our business with. This partnership demonstrates the developments our brand is making in growing both internationally and in the UK.

'This listing will enhance our awareness South of the border and help to satisfy the demand for Mackie’s products that is currently present out with our heartland of Scotland.’

Natasha Metcalf, Regional Trading Manager at Ocado, said, ‘We are continually working hard to expand our product offering and improve our proposition to our customers; Mackie’s Scottish potato crisps tick all the boxes for quality, taste and regional products with provenance.

'We know this brand will be enjoyed by Ocado customers in England and Wales and are excited to be the company at the forefront of bringing their products South of the border.’
