TUCO partners with UCB for mixology masterclass

The University Caterers Organisation (TUCO) has partnered with University College Birmingham (UCB) to create a bespoke day course in mixology, taking place on Monday 29 February 2018.

The day is aimed at bar supervisors, team leaders, aspiring bar managers and anyone with responsibility for business development in the hospitality industry.

Sarah McLoughlin, TUCO Head of Academy, commented, “We are delighted to partner with UCB to launch the mixology masterclass. This course is a good training and development opportunity for our members and non- members alike, to increase their knowledge in bar skills.

'It is also the perfect preparation for anyone who is taking part in this year’s Bar Skills Competitions at the TUCO Competitions 2018.”

UCB will conduct the masterclass in their dedicated mixology suite and will cover innovations in mixology. This will include an introduction in sensory knowledge, spirit masterclass, cocktail masterclass and wine pairing for restaurant service.

Participants will be guided through the background and concepts of mixology and cocktail making, whilst learning essential techniques.

UCB has an established reputation in educating and training hospitality staff over the last four decades. The masterclass will take place at University College Birmingham, Summer Row, Birmingham.
