NewRiver invests in Hampshire pub revamp

Havant publicans Martin Todd and his partner Sarah Jones have been rewarded for their 18 years behind the bar at The Swallow pub, with a refurbishment.

In recognition of their years of service, pub owners NewRiver - a specialist leisure and retail property company - has funded a facelift for the Dunsbury Way venue.

The Swallow has been made over inside and out, and now boasts new interior and exterior improvements, including new signage, outside lights, carpet, and upgraded toilets.

Martin Todd said, “The pub looks fantastic now thanks to NewRiver’s generous support. When Sarah and I saw the plans for the refurbishments, we knew the pub would turn out magnificently. There’s a great community spirit at our pub and we’re always delighted to hear the locals commenting on how much they love the refurb as well.”

NewRiver Operations Manager, Cathy Button said, “Martin and Sarah are both extremely hard-working and are exceptional publicans. They are always going above and beyond to make The Swallow the best it can be.

“The Swallow always has a fantastic atmosphere, and there is great relationship between Martin and Sarah and their loyal customers.

“As they have been at the pub for 18 years, we thought it would be great to show our appreciation by giving the Swallow a refurbishment, and wish them both all the best for their new pub in the future.”

NewRiver owns 340 pubs across England and Wales.
