Bubbledogs launches series of Champagne events

This June, bubbledogs, the gourmet hot dog and Champagne bar in Fitzrovia, will be popping bottles to celebrate all things grower with a series of bubble-filled events.

Some of Champagne’s best grower producers are taking over the bubbledogs menu with unique hot dogs using the finest French produce and, in true bubbledogs style, the restaurant is throwing a one-off late-night Champagne party on Saturday 16 June.

Turning tradition on its head, bubbledogs co-founder Sandia Chang has invited four of her favourite producers into the kitchen to create a hot dog to be matched with their Champagne, on the menu for one week each throughout the month.

Bereche et Fils will be kicking things off in week one with a campagne-style Lardo di Colonata hotdog, duck fat haricot beans, onions, wholegrain mustard and tomatoes.

Week two sees Collin-Guillame’s sparkling rosé complemented with cancoillotte cheese, rosti-like pomme paillason, caramelised onions and lettuce, before Marie Courtin’s cuvée will be paired with a sweet and savoury seaweed, hazelnut crumble, herb cream cheese and sundried tomato pesto hot dog.

Last but by no means least, Jean-Marc Sélèque takes to the stage with a one off bacon-wrapped sausage topped with spicy jalapeno cheese, mango salsa and coriander.

For those looking to toast the summer with terroir-focused fizz, bubbledogs will be throwing the doors open and staying up late on Saturday 16 June. Once regular service has wound down at 9pm, resident DJ Fizz will be on the decks, turning up the tempo and spinning out some old school hip hop tunes. Party guests are invited to sip on some of the region’s rarest grower Champagnes, all available at cost price, while grabbing dishes from a late-night menu served until 12am.

Sandia Chang said, “We often collaborate with our favourite chefs on hot dogs – of course, we’re just as wild about bubbles as we are about dogs, so it makes perfect sense to invite some of our grower friends to bring a taste of France to Fitzrovia. And whatever you pair it with, champagne tastes best with sunshine – so what better way to celebrate the season than by throwing a grower champagne party? See you at the bar!”

Over at the Bubble Shop, Sandia has curated a hamper of her four favourite rosés for a special price of £160. Perfect for summer afternoons in the sunshine, the rosé bundle includes Jean-Marc Sélèque, Rosé de Saignée Extra Brut (£42), Collin-Guillaume ‘bubbledogs’ Rosé (£45), Eric Rodez Grand Cru (£54) and Oliver Horiot ‘Sève’ (£48).
