BrewDog taps Crowdcube for Equity for Punks V as latest raise closes in on £22m

Independent Scottish brewery, BrewDog has today announced that its record-breaking crowdfunding drive Equity for Punks is now available for investment via Crowdcube, the UK’s leading equity crowdfunding platform.

BrewDog launched its fifth round of Equity for Punks last October with an aim of raising a minimum of £10m, a target it achieved in under 90 days. Following this, the raise was extended to 15 October 2018. So far, BrewDog has raised more than £21m from over 80,000 investors.

The brewery is now targeting a minimum of £22m by the close of the round. In launching Equity for Punks on Crowdcube, BrewDog is tapping into the platform’s vast community of seasoned investors.

In 2016, BrewDog secured a record £10m in 24 days via a mini-bond on Crowdcube, the highest raise ever on the platform. BrewDog’s first mini-bond raise on Crowdcube in 2015 was overfunded by 130%, raising £2.3m with a target of £1m.

From today, potential investors can visit crowdcube.com/brewdogefpv to become an Equity Punk, BrewDog’s term for its community of shareholders. Shares will cost £23.75 each and be issued in blocks of four, with a minimum investment of four shares for £95.

BrewDog was named in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 for the sixth consecutive year in 2017, an achievement it believes was only possible thanks to its community of shareholders. Investors in the brewery have seen the value of their investment increase by 2,765% since 2010.

BrewDog now employs more than 1,500 people worldwide, with 58 craft beer bars across the globe, and two world-class breweries in Ellon, Aberdeenshire and Columbus, Ohio and a third under construction in Brisbane, Australia.

Luke Lang, Co-founder of Crowdcube said, 'We have a great track record with BrewDog. Investors on the platform love the ethos and ambition of the brewery, and we are proud to partner with them for a third time in this final stretch of what is already a hugely successful equity raise.'

BrewDog Co-Founder James Watt said, “This round of Equity for Punks has been our most audacious and ambitious to date, but we are well on track to complete all the projects we announced when we launched in October.

'We’re looking forward to welcoming our Crowdcube investors to next year’s AGM, which promises to be our biggest and best one yet. We’ve proven that with a passionate community behind us, there are no limits to what can be accomplished.”
