KFC partners with The Cloud to boost dining experience

KFC has announced a partnership with WiFi provider The Cloud to offer free WiFi access across its UK sites. Following a short roll-out period, customers will be able to access the net from their mobile devices, allowing them to browse, access social networks.

With smartphone ownership at an all time high, the onus is on businesses such as restaurants, cafes, bars and retailers to tap into this opportunity and offer customers an efficient way of going online.

Nathan James, Senior Manager, Brand Experience, KFC UK said, “We are operating in a highly competitive industry and are always looking for ways to improve our restaurants. As more and more of our customers are using smart devices, we know internet connectivity is fast becoming a key part of the restaurant experience. Diners want to be able to browse, access social networks, search for retail outlets around them to plan their day, or access KFC-related information and special offers. The new WiFi service offers exactly this and helps ensure we provide an enjoyable dining experience.”

When logging in to the service, customers will be directed to a KFC-branded landing page, which will contain restaurant information, menus and also special offers.

The Cloud had a long-standing partnership with rival fast food chain McDonald's, but that ended last year when the brand switched to O2 for its in-store free Wi-Fi.
