InnBrighton to open fifth London site

InnBrighton, the Brighton-based pub company run by Gavin George and Gary Pettet, has secured its fifth London site, an Enterprise Inns lease, the former Redback Tavern in High Street, Acton.

The pub was formerly a well-known Aussie and Kiwi expatriate music venue, but has been closed since early 2012. The imposing building and its location attracted interest from a significant number of operators before InnBrighton secured it.

Backed by Graphite Capital with a portfolio of 44 pubs, InnBrighton has already commenced work on the pub on an extensive re-fit with an aim of opening the venue on 1 November. They will invest £600,000 on the new site turning it into a new flagship micro-brewery for its London estate.

Chairman Gary Pettet, commenting on the lease agreement with Enterprise Inns, said: “Given the level of interest in the site we are pleased that our proposal and the subsequent negotiations have resulted in InnBrighton being offered a free-of-tie lease on terms that satisfy all parties. Enterprise will also be making an investment in the building along with us, and we expect that the re-launched pub will be a credit to both our businesses and a unique addition to the West London pub scene, of which Acton residents can similarly be proud.”

InnBrighton operates six other tied Enterprise Inns leases.
