Kench & Bibesy opening in Farringdon

The team behind Evans & Peel Detective Agency in London’s Earl Court, is set to open a new restaurant and bar, Kench & Bibesy, in Farringdon later this month.

Business Partners Chris Peel & Gareth Evans, are opening the venue on 20 November on Long Lane and will serve a regular changing menu showcasing British dishes sourced from sustainable ingredients and independent suppliers along with a unique cocktail list, British roasted coffee and breweries from a microbrewery. Day time food will be available to eat in or take away.

Small plates will be offered in the evening with dishes including chicken confit (chicken slow-cooked in its own fat with poultry potatoes, apple and raisin sauce) and the ‘Kench chowder’ (smoked fish soup, shelled winkles, roast parsnip, fennel powder, onion ash and garlic chives).

The venue will include a 50-cover upstairs venue and a basement cocktail bar. The menu in the bar will be offering a concise drinks menu containing technical cocktails focusing on crisp, bold flavours, alongside an impressive wine and Champagne menu.

The interior of the venue will have reclaimed furniture and objects sourced from salvage yards and former schools and hospitals will be used to create a “relaxed and industrial space”.

Michael Harrison, from Evans & Peel will transfer to Kench & Bibesy as head chef, with Marlowe Harris overseeing the bar and Peel managing the whole team.
