Ireland’s biggest hotel operator The Dalata Hotel Group has announced plans to purchase the Moran Bewley’s Hotel Group for €455m.
Dalata is set to acquire nine of the Moran & Bewley hotels, in Dublin, Leeds, Manchester and London subject to shareholder approval.
This will include the landmark Bewley’s Hotel Ballbridge, Silver Springs Moran Hotel, Chiswick Moran Hotel, London and Bewley’s Hotel Leopardstown, Dublin.
The Red Cow Moran Hotel and the Red Cow Inn in Dublin will not form part of the deal.
It is expected that Dalata will launch a new brand for the nine hotels that it acquires.
Dalata Chief Executive Pat McCann said, “It is a business we have admired for a long time and the acquisition is a rare opportunity to acquire a large, well-invested portfolio of hotels.”
